SEDONA—The Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona, in partnership with Yavapai College, and the Valley Academy for Career and Technical Education, will host the Pathways to Careers Exploratory Day on February 12 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Yavapai College’s, Verde Valley Campus. Nearly 200 middle and high school students from schools across the Verde Valley are registered for the exploratory day, which includes tours of skilled trade programs offered through Yavapai College, hands-on learning, lunch, and information from experts in a variety of technical fields.
As the state’s largest private scholarship provider, ACF focuses on offering financial support through scholarships for students of all ages and backgrounds. As traditional, four-year university tuition costs continue to rise, the opportunities for technical and vocational trades are gaining traction and can offer outstanding career opportunities.
ACF of Sedona offers two career and technical scholarships including The Pat Marr Memorial Scholarship for Vocational Excellence and the Pathways to Careers CTE Scholarship. Both scholarships have submission deadlines throughout the year.
Highlighted programs include Allied Health-Phlebotomy; Cosmetology; Culinary Arts; Educator Professions; Fire Science; Law Enforcement; Nursing; Residential Construction, Electrician, HVAC, and Plumbing; and Viticulture and Enology.
The February event is at full capacity, but a second Exploratory Day will take place in September 2026. For more information, please visit
