Sedona, AZ News – Sedona mayoral candidate Samaire Armstrong has conceded to mayoral candidate Scott Jablow’s victory in the November 8 election.
The following is her statement made early this morning as the count was being made:
The numbers are still trickling in, but it looks like I did not get the votes to be Sedona’s mayor.
We as a community gathered with all our heart as soul over the last half year.
While it looks as if we did not get the results we hoped for, our intention behind the gathering of collective energy and intention remains. We continue to push forward.
I pray Mr Jablow leads with integrity and open mindedness to the half of the community who’s votes he did not receive.
We will continue forward to create Sedona in the vision of a heart centered community driven by common sense policy.
— Samaire Armstrong
The votes as of this time are still being counted and a final tally has not been released.

Well it nice to see a nice woman have enough balls to admit defeat….Just to bad Prez 45 never even had them to do the right thing. How strange is that.?..Missed you last night Samaire, getting your completion certificate from Citizens Academy.
Yes yes of course. The corrupt media and ultra corrupt democrat party has done so much to label anyone who raises even the most innocent question of election impropriety as a “Right wing extremist” that democrats, (who have no record of actual accomplishments) can now cheat with absolute impunity.
No accomplishments? You must be blind. Taxes on corporations, the infrastructure bill, lower drug prices including insulin, voting rights etc. If a Republican administration passed these, you’d be applauding them.
Thank you Samaire and Jennifer Strait for running for council and Mayor respectively. You are both courageous powerful woman..
I think you have both started a movement in Sedona that will not be stopped.I wish Mayor Jablow much success….And if the city continues to ignore the residents we will be there to let them know!
Daniel Holland how were Armstrong or Strait “courageous”?
Both never shared a real idea. Strait’s big agenda was not to have any government and to “let the people vote on everything” and never said how that would really work.
The citizens academy, where city staff indoctrinates citizens to believe staff has everything under control.
If you want to see where the money goes, don’t look at the budget, get a copy of accounts payable.
Trust me Jablow will always trust the “professional staff.” What a joke.
Jess, then tell the states attorney . You are part of the problem if there is corruption and you know it! WAKE UP or SHUT UP!
How rude and disappointing!!
Interesting that the headline of this article is Jablow Wins and yet the picture right below that is not the victor but the person he defeated. No picture of the Mayor Elect?
Headline is Armstrong Concedes, not Jablow Wins.
You can’t feel bad about liberals electing the mentally challenged, and incompetent they elected Fetterman in Pennsylvania.
Libs will get what they deserve, good and hard. High taxes, crime, intrusive government. Just look at every democrat run city.
You couldn’t help yourself. You were compelled to say this.
Pull your head out of the sand. Crime rates have increased in red states.
Ths was an ugly campaign. I am glad it is over. The majority of the Sedona public has made the decision as to who will be our next mayor and now, in the spirit of democracy, we should all accept that decision
graciously.
Democracy means “the people rule”. And Mayor Jablow earned 1200 more votes than Ms. Armstrong. The people have spoken and all good citizens wish Scott Jablow good luck as the new Captain of the Ship.
Samarie Armstrong was a breath of fresh, however, turbulent air filling the lungs of Sedona. Indeed, Armstrong and Jablow were the center of civic attention in the first organized mayoral debate in recent memory. Now, you can’t get anymore democratic than public debate.
Armstrong flushed the identity zealots out of the holes. Your know, the wannabe experts that stereotype candidates as Trumpsters, or stereotype liberals as extreme wokeism psychos that release criminals from jail one hour after they are arrested.
Democracy has a place for voters left or right. Indeed, democracy encourages robust and passionate debate. Ask Thomas Jefferson.
Armstrong was historic in drawing attention to the direction Sedona has been heading. The Democratic think tanks in Washington and California articulate policies on housing, education, immigration, crime, health insurance, social security and many other topics dear to every American. The little local politicians follow the new policies.
Armstrong pulled up the curtain and showed that Jablow believes progress is expanding the size of government, hiring lobbyists and Assistants to the City Manager, building mega parking lots, spending and building “affordable” housing for the working poor and so forth . Yes. Armstrong put the direction of Sedona on the kitchen table …. and to Armstrong’s dismay, the majority of voters support Jablow’s agenda.
However, The without Armstrong, any public discussion of critical issues may not have taken place ….
Armstrong got 42% of the vote. And this was her first time in the swimming pool. Jablow has been around for almost a decade and knows whoever needs to be known or/and those getting a slice of the City Budget, or those interested in zoning rules, tax breaks, and so forth . This budget exposure is part of the job for any elected official .
Consequently, the new Mayor received 58% of the vote . This majority approves of Jablow’s direction and integrity. But the point is, Armstrong made Jablow define himself as a progressive. Of course, Samarie tried to paint Scott as a progressive that made no progress. Obviously, a majority of the voters disagreed.
In a week or so, invoices will be paid, donations and donors will be identified and Samarie Armstrong will make breakfast for her child and make sure homework is done and appointments are kept with the teachers. Then she will review the bills to be paid and think about the most novel Christmas gift for her child.
Armstrong will be out of the news and the color and excitement will leave the air. But one thing is sure, Samarie Armstrong carved her little space in Sedona history and if Sedona keeps marching to the tune of urbanization you may hear from Samaria again and each year that passes history will be the judge of whether she was right about Sedona becoming another San Francisco.
Samaire said nothing of substance for 6 months.
Ummmm Is it any wonder they put the picture of a very attractive woman than the picture of a geriatric retired cop from New York?
I helped Jablow unlock his rental car in which he had locked his keys many rears ago. I wish I had told him he is not welcome in Sedona, go back to New York instead.
If Ms.Armstrong had put forth any concrete policy, the Result of this election Might have might have. been different.
Ms Armstrong did have a plan
I was at both debates
Her plan
No workforce housing/affordable housing within 25 to 30 miles of Sedona
