    Dear Mayor Sandy,

    Sedona Gift Shop

Letter to The EditorThis recent article in the RR News about sharp declines in local COVID cases underscores why it is high time to drop the  Sedona mask and social distancing orders. The current data suggests that we are achieving herd immunity, and regardless of vaccinations. Furthermore, many other states and countries who have lifted their mandates (or never imposed them) are doing fine, including Florida with its tourism and elderly population. So, even if these mandates seemed right at one point, we need to realize with confidence that now it is time to go “back to normal” and allow people to make their own choices.

While many Sedonans “go along to get along,”a large number of us are weary of these mandates and we do not consent to being forced to wear masks and “social distance” in such dehumanizing and culturally destructive ways. Based on evidence as well as common sense, we see these mandates as unnecessary, unjustified, unconstitutional, divisive, destructive and undermining of our confidence in our leadership. Many legal efforts are underway in courts and legislatures to rescind such orders and seek compensation for the immense economic, cultural, social, political and even public health harms done by such orders. Sooner or later, that will come to Sedona as well. Such cases would be easy to prove, as these unprecedented mandates seem to be based on two very weak premises:

    1. The premise that we are in a state of emergency. From the get-go, the “emergency” claim has been disputed by thousands of doctors and scientists, who can now show little change in all-cause mortality and a high rate of recovery comparable to many flu-like illnesses we have long accepted as normal. Yes, like many such viruses, COVID-19 can kill certain of the most vulnerable, but it is very far from a true plague. We are told repeatedly to “Follow the science.” Yet  the “tobacco science” fuelling COVID mandates is largely paid for by powerful worldwide pharmaceutical interests behind our media and government (with strong ties to China) and in no way reflects the totality of the true science. Just compare the WHO’s latest report of 2.4 million deaths to 1968, when the Hong Kong flu claimed 1-4 million lives (up to 8 million by today’s population). And yet we had Woodstock, and many of us hardly even heard of it. COVID is far less lethal than the 1918 flu and nothing whatsoever like the Black Death, a true plague that killed half of Europe.

    2. The premise that masks, social distancing, and lockdowns do more good than harm. In fact, there’s plenty of evidence for the opposite, and many experts and citizens would stand ready to testify in court to that effect.  OSHA guidelines have in the past have even made it very difficult for employers to impose masks on staff, due to their long-known health harms, let alone their divisive social effects. The economic damage is huge, especially from the business closures last spring, along with limited attendance requirements still in place. Alongside that and other cultural damage, we see clear spikes in suicides, deaths from stress, drug abuse, domestic abuse, hunger, homelessness and more— both locally and globally. For those who believe it was all worth it, that is quite a burden of harm to justify, especially now that we see the graphs that show little correlation between these measures and the health outcomes in various states and countries.

A generation of misfits? In addition, we cannot overlook the harm done to the normal social development of  infants, toddlers and youth of all ages who are forced to wear masks or who cannot read the normal facial cues of those around them. (Look up “Still Face” studies.)  If this abnormal interference with human connection continues much longer, we will create a generation of fearful misfits, hermits, nerds and sociopaths who will spawn more of the same. Like the son of a local  store cashier who says he has spent most of the year in bed, connecting only online. Is this the world we want?
Mayor Sandy, no doubt your intentions in all this were good and honorable, and it was a challenging decision. I can only guess, therefore, that you, along with so many others, got caught up in something the likes of which none of us has ever seen in our lives. It is still, everyday, hard to comprehend its scale and impact.

Yet, we must in good conscience try to understand what has unfolded. Widespread research and independent investigation strongly suggests that the global restrictions placed on people everywhere this last year were not really about our well-being. Rather, they were used as part of a long-planned agenda to impose a totalitarian surveillance technocracy on the world, all in the name of our own good.  Does this sound crazy? Then simply read what is openly described in the World Economic Forum’s plans for a “Great Reset,” wherein director Klaus Schwab assures us that by 2030, “You will own nothing and you will be happy.” (Guess who owns everything.) And with their immense financial control of the media, industry, banking and government agencies, Schwab, Gates, Soros, Chinese leaders and their cadre of global allies, all enabled by our compliance, are now well on their way.

Perhaps these powerful globalists mean well, as they see it. Or perhaps they do not. Either way, it is scary to learn about the scope of their agenda and their power, and what it appears to lead to, a Chinese style top-down global surveillance and endless restriction of human rights. Yet, it is irresponsible at this point for those who still believe in human rights to dismiss the evidence for this enormous power play as nothing but a baseless “conspiracy theory.”   Just look around and we can see how much tyranny has already destroyed common sense and freedom throughout the world. It’s already happening. And it demands that we all step up to the plate and stop going along with the powers that should not be. It’s time to take a stand for what is truly in the greatest good of the people. It is time for each of us to claim our soverignty and our rights, including our leaders. It’s time to take back Life.
And let us never doubt that we can and we will.

Science is where we go to get proper guidelines on mask wearing, not a local artist. We just passed a half million people dying in this country because of this stupidity. The CDC still recommends we wear masks. We have not achieved herd immunity and will not for some time according to their scientists. Our country has lost it’s ability to understand where good information comes from due to a blitz of conspiracy theorists. If Susan is your guide…I hope you have some good health insurance.

    2. john roberts on February 25, 2021 5:41 pm

Karen has a real functioning brain unlike the artist type she disparages. 500,000 dead is all the facts we need to arrive at an intelligent understanding about the invasion of the virus. Add in that the CDC has awesomely brainy staffers in their employ. As does a doctor named Fauci.

Or is it possible that Dips–t University has more grads than all the Ivy League universities added together. These grads maybe all cast their votes for the lunkhead resident down at Mar a Largo, Florida last November. Is what herd mentality means ?

The Pitcairn crowd must all be Trump lovers and that’s about the best description you can fashion. It’s amazing how many stupid people populate America. About 40 million or so is a good guess.

Glad to hear the bad virus related numbers are fading recently.

Keep masking, 6′ apart and stay cool AND vaccinated.

      Best to you’ll, John

Very lucid work Susan. Well written, researched and on-the-money. The sheep are being herded for the final shearing. Fear is their feed. The sleeping somnambulists are giving the few freedoms they once had to those who profit from disease, ignorance and death. Be wary of the bleating parrots in their Fauci designer masks.

    4. John Roberts on March 1, 2021 10:32 am

Tommy , your excellent post about Steve Devol passing is appreciated and well written. Thanks.

But why did you in the same media space extol the Pitcairn stupidity /nonsense. She is an accomplished artist but that doesn’t qualify her to know anything about the virus issue. Her thoughts are based on the falsehoods espoused by our former insane president . Hardly in tune with the real experts about this prime threat we all face. CDC, Fauci, etc. know what’s real .

Get with it Tommy, you past fine reputation just got doused with a bucket of Pitcairn barnyard dung.

Keep masking, vaccinated and your heads screwed on right.

      John

      • Tommy on March 1, 2021 11:30 am

Hi John: Always a pleasure. You seem to have this fascination with barnyard dung. Did you grow up in a farm?

As an investigative reporter with 40 years experience I can tell when we are being snowed. Fauci and his ilk use their version of science to mask the fact they are making billions on a vaccine that would not have been needed had they not sabotaged the various, simple cures that have been out there since jump street.

Trump buried hydroxychloroquine when he came out in favor of it. I already had it in my medicine chest weeks before he panned it because a French scientist friend of mine had told me about the now buried reports on its efficacy. Big Pharma got the perfect excuse to quell the possible cure, thanks to Trump’s endorsement. What a shame. Had he kept his big mouth shut tens of thousands of lives might have been saved.

Also, I think it’s bad form for a gifted writer such as yourself to waste ink spewing aspersions on others. Attack the views. Not the person.

    5. Joan Shannon. on March 1, 2021 10:35 am

The fact that Karen and John attack Susan Pitcairn so unkindly just shows their own intolerance of anyone with a view different from theirs. The CDC has made mistakes as does Dr. Fauci every time he appears on TV jumping from one prediction to another and now says we should wear THREE masks. What that tell us is that the masks do not work as the virus is so tiny it passes through every mask.
There are many scientists and doctors who have put videos on You Tube and Facebook revealing their research but, they are immediately taken down so “what is the fear of us hearing different opinions” and deciding for ourselves? Because a person enjoys painting is not any revelation they are ignorant of certain facts and they obviously have an intelligence above Karen and John as Susan has not attacked anyone on a personal basis, just requested the Mayor to lift the mask ban. John Roberts is so full of venom and hate for anyone who supports Trump he assumes any person who holds a different view surely must be one of them as only those of his ilk have any intelligence. Very revealing of an extreme character flaw especially since his group brags they are the only ones who possess tolerance and love for mankind. Very revealing indeed! Our State Legislature is now working on a bill over ruling every City that has a mask mandate and instead leaving it up to businesses to decide for themselves.
Every time John Roberts writes on this website he exudes hatefulness of anyone who disagreed with is views. He must be an unhappy person holding onto such anger all the time.

I agree with Susan and Tommy ~ Awake and aware with valid points made clear.

Those who foolishly accept the number of deaths attributed to the program of fear creation clearly have not done one ounce of their own research in my opinion. What becomes obvious when one dares to look beyond the mainstream media and corporate lines is that these numbers have not been accurate in any way since the beginning of the daily focus on them.

Has any of these fearful ones looked into where all the normally reported flu cases each year have gone during this past year? That should be a red flag in any one’s eyes ~ if they are not so lulled to sleep that they overlook the obvious.

I will not debate the countless points that could be made here. It is time to wake up ~ and stop giving our personal power to those who would take it and keep taking it. It does not have to be a lose-lose situation.

And I must ask – just where does the criticism of artist over “intellectual” have any merit at all? Wake up and take a look at your personal beliefs and see whether or not they have any basis in the present moment? I find it humorous that those promoting the “follow the science” line often haven’t a clue about the “so-called modern science” and how it has been “created”. Come on … Wake up!! It is time to wake up!!

We are highly creative beings and in my opinion, those who relish in putting down the “artistic types” do more harm than they know.

Clearly demonstrates how out of balance things can be and the need to reclaim our “senses” and see what is before our very eyes. It is all there is plain sight for those with eyes wide open to see. For those who choose to sleep – can you at least imagine / dream of a beautiful life where all are healthy and free to live life fully alive!!? Please?? Then – when you are ready – open your eyes and see the possibilities that are before us now and choose to co-create a world beyond the limits of the age-old fear-conditioning!!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Ms. Grandon. Truly, thanks for presenting a respectful, measured response to the arrogant comments made against anyone who dares to question the failing narrative that we are all supposed to be shaking in our boots. You address many of the issues no one dares to and you do it well and kindly without being antagonistic or condescending.
        Thank you,

    We Have Been Thoroughly Trained!
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

Throughout the years, we have been trained. Part of the training is to see others as trained, but not ourselves. Even though we are the others that others are trained to see as trained, we tend to miss that little nuance. The training says we must know what’s right and speak out when we see something that runs contrary to our understanding of rightness. We don’t stop to realize that what we see as right isn’t exactly right or it would be the right version that everyone in their right mind knew as right. There are billions of versions of right but ours is the only real right one. Seems fishy, doesn’t it? We spend our days, our lives, catching others — the wrong ones — doing and saying things in support of their versions of right and our training has us jumping on the critical bandwagon lest we be painted in support of the wrong right. What in this crazy world moves us with such amazing force to crave rightness, to need to be seen as right? Read more→
