OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) Sedona Community Forum will host Naomi Rose, Artist, Author, and Founder of Sat Nam Spirit Center of Sedona, February 26
Sedona AZ (February 7, 2020) – Naomi Rose is on a journey, one launched by her childhood love for nature, peace, wisdom and spirituality. She has traveled deeply into these realms through her talents and training in painting, writing, and teaching.
Her voyage’s latest stage is founding the new Sat Nam Spirit Center of Sedona, at which she and others offer classes and events for mind, body, and spiritual growth for all ages.
Meet Naomi Rose and learn about her personal and professional evolution when she will be the guest of honor at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s (OLLI’s) Sedona Community Forum program on Wednesday, February 26, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., in room 34 of Yavapai College’s Sedona Center.
Naomi’s path has been characterized by creative innovation. For example, in 2nd grade, she visited numerous churches and temples to find one that suited her. In the end, she decided to make up her own. And the Sat Nam Spirit Center is her latest creative approach to expressing her spiritual nature in her community.
She started learning yoga at 13, and now she teaches highly regarded yoga classes from her heart, drawing intuitively from the heritage she’s explored in her shamanic lineage and many other spiritual teachings over the years.
Nature is another life theme. From girl scouts, to backpacking in the Sierras, to living in places of natural beauty, like Santa Fe, Bainbridge Island, Washington, and Sedona, she is deeply nourished by nature and incorporates it into innovative workshops that combine yoga and hiking, flower essence therapy, and spirit painting.
Naomi has studied art and writing since childhood and eventually decided to combine those talents in creating children’s books. Her five published books, all concerning Tibetan environment, culture and wisdom, have won renown and awards. She began when she was encouraged by her teacher, Lama Surya Das, to adapt for children his book of Tibetan wisdom tales—which became Tibetan Tales for Little Buddhas.
Naomi also has exhibited her paintings in galleries and other venues in the United States and England. Besides her books, her essays and stories have appeared in a variety of magazines.
To meet this renaissance woman, learn more about her creative endeavors, and be introduced to her activities at the Sat Nam Spirit Center come to OLLI at 12:30 Wednesday, February 26.
OLLI’s Sedona Community Forum is an enjoyable, informative, weekly community event that is free and open to all.
