… from the time I took this shot on the lake Friday morning; there were a few fishermen on the lake and the morning fog was lifting … a cool breeze was blowing from the NE and the air was fresh. Then it was back to Minneapolis, the evening flight to Phoenix and the shuttle back to Sedona.

Fast forwarding a year and One will return with me to “the lake”, still a very special place and for a much longer period of time. Probably we’ll fly into Minneapolis and rent a car for a month or so or perhaps make the drive. Dunno, we’ll see what develops. The lake is the Upper Eau Clair Lake and I stayed in a cabin known as Pinewood … contact Tom & Diane Menard for more information at menard5@msn.com and the website at http://northcountryvacationrentals.net/northern-wisconsin-vacation-rentals/pinewood-cabin-upper-eau-claire-lake/ and another wonderful place to stay on the lake is Chuck & Gail’s Place http://www.eauclairelakes.com/index.htm ; Corky and I used to stay there after my folks sold their place. The water in the lake is exceptionally clear and nice and the people friendly.

A quiet weekend catching up on paperwork that needed doing … laundry that needed doing too and enjoying the fall weather and rain. Hoping to be back in the air by Thursday and get up and photograph the color at the peaks and in Lockett Meadow.

Have a terrific Monday … we’re still breathing and what a great way to start the day … and if not breathing  … naw, I’ll leave that alone … smiles!

    Cheers

    Ted

But from the brooding beauty of the night, and daily dancing shafts of golden sun …
The mystery and wonder of the world … that play the soundless music of the soul
And fill the heart with memory’s olden dreams … From these will come at last your faith in God.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
