    Sedona, AZ — Dear Editor:

I am writing to express my concern over the troubling behavior exhibited by the Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) in the ongoing Democratic primary election for Yavapai County Supervisor in District 3.

I am disappointed that DORR is engaging in the primary election based on influence from a select few members, driven by political reasons without official support of its membership, rather than the best interests of Yavapai County voters.

This behavior undermines the democratic process and raises serious questions about their motives. It certainly is not the democratic principles that guide most election processes in which equity and fair play are modeled – especially by the Democratic Party.

The Yavapai County Democratic Party cannot comment on Political Action Committee (PAC) actions like DORR. However, it appears to me that their conduct is not representative of the Democratic ideals and past expectation in Yavapai County, and it’s critical for voters to be aware of these shenanigans.

The actions of DORR to exclude an incumbent Democrat in the political process is not in line with the values that our party stands for, and it’s imperative to differentiate between the two.

Voters need to be vigilant and informed about the Board of Supervisors primary election race. It is vital to do your homework and research the candidates thoroughly. DO NOT rely on the biased opinions of those with political or special interest agendas.

Instead, seek out impartial information and make an informed decision based on the candidates’ qualifications, track records, and commitment to serving the Verde Valley. The integrity of our democratic process depends on the active participation of voters.

I urge everyone to look beyond the influence of social clubs like the Democrats of the Red Rocks and focus on what truly matters: selecting a candidate who will best represent the interests of all Verde Valley residents. Because of their lack of equity I have cancelled my membership to DORR.

Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.

    Sincerely,

    Rhoda Pitcher

    Yavapai County resident

    Healing Paws

Huh? Trump has been campaigning years out from the election rather than election years only like everyone else and you have issues with DORR? I’ve seen campaign posters, texts, ads mailings and more from the GOP, DEMs and Independents non stop since 2020! So I think your argument is kinda biased.

RE: “The actions of DORR to exclude an incumbent Democrat in the political process”
Need more details. This tells me nothing.

They are free to endorse whoever they want, and if their members take issue with that, it’s an internal matter.

Well that’s pretty wild. Trying to bring Trump into a DORR conversation.

DORR is a 501c4. They can support anyone they want. Ads with Jablow and Check are popping up. Don’t expect DORR to cater to certain Democrats. It’s a club. If you’re a member of the club, quit supporting it.

Of the two in the running in the Democrat primary, Check is an alternative to Michaels, who actually lost on election day. Early ballots gave her a lead, but it was a single issue election campaign and she only defeated Garrison by 179 votes. Not exactly a mandate.

And Michaels has not been a favorite of Democrats or pretty much anyone.

So we will let it play out and see who wins.

The winner will go against Lori Drake, currently President of Migus Union High School District #4.

It would be a breath of fresh air to have an education expert as a Yavapai Supervisor considering the millions we send to Prescott for Yavapai College and get ignored on this side of the mountain.

Sorry Bill but ALL elections are relative anymore. And as I stated others are and have been doing so since 2020 and so the argument was biased was the relative point of the matter.
