… you can shoot the same subject over and over, year after year and all of a sudden there is your same subject that has transformed into something special … a work of art with that feeling of forever. The shot above of a Great Blue Heron is such a photograph with literally nothing done to it, save some simple adjustments. One of my favs and soon to be on a glass print for my desk … I am out of wall space 🙁 Download it for sure!

Below is a shot that recorded the events of a day about 20,000 years ago … The Little Colorado River was wending its way through the Painted Desert on a northwesterly course, when twelve miles to the south the earth ruptured and what is known as Merriam Crater came to life and the lava flow from it flowed north intersecting a stretch of the Little Colorado River. This dammed up the river and caused it to flow north around the intrusion of lava and then back to the south where it encountered the lava flow again causing the river to make an abrupt turn and continue about eighty miles to the north north west where it joins the Colorado River. The event which changed to course of the river is on full display today … oh, and that is Grand Falls just right of center!

Have a beautiful day, keep breathing, smiling and be kind. What a great day we are in!

    Smiles,

    Ted

Spare me from bitterness and from the sharp
passions of unguarded moments. May I not
forget that poverty and riches are of the spirit.
Though the world know me not, may my thoughts
and actions be such as shall keep me friendly
    with myself.
