Sedona AZ (June 1, 2013) – Award winning fine art and commercial photographer Susie Reed firmly believes photographers can always grow and be inspired. She knows this from working with many students and first hand. This June, during Sedona Photofest week, she’s offering photographers opportunities to do just that in two classes and on a shoot to beautiful, little known locations. All three are open to photographers of all levels.

20130601_earthwombIn her first class, “Tips for Submitting Photos to Contest, Exhibits and Galleries”, Susie Reed will draw upon her experience judging many photo contests and widely exhibiting to help photographers prepare successful submissions. She’ll also share an insiders’ perspective about how to make the most out of being in a gallery or exhibit. This class will be on June 5th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Next, on June 7th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm she’s doing “Photo Critiques and Portfolio Reviews.” This is an opportunity for photographers to get helpful and insightful feedback about their work.

Lastly on June 9th Susie Reed is leading a “Sedona Off the Beaten Path Sunset Photo Shoot Tour,” from 4:15 to 8:15. Participants will visit a wonderful rock art site and capture a stunning location with 360º views that includes Cathedral Rock from a different vantage point than is usually seen. She’ll share photo tips, talk about how to make creative choices, explain camera settings, ways to achieve good composition and more.

In 2009 Susie Reed joined the faculty of the Sedona Arts Center. She’s also taught and spoken at California College of the Arts, San Francisco Art Institute, Keep Sedona Beautiful, to camera clubs and elsewhere. She’s been a speaker, and teacher at Sedona Photofests as well as one of its original organizers and head of their photo contest.

Susie Reed is best known as an eminent photographer of Native American rock art, which she’s been photographing in the Sedona area since 1995. She shows her photography at acclaimed Goldenstein Gallery and was recently featured in an exhibit at the Sedona Art Museum. Her photos are also permanently displayed in Sedona Visitor and Information Centers thanks to an artists grant from the Sedona Art and Culture Commission.

Susie Reed’s June Photofest week classes cost $35 each and the photo shoot is $50 per person. Advance registration is required and space is limited. For further information or to register call 928-204-5856 or visit www.susiereedphotos.com.

Belief vs. Suspicion: Will Iran go the Way of Iraq, Gaza and Palestine?

It was belief that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction that led us into war with Iraq. It’s suspicion that Iran seeks to build a nuclear warhead that has led us into war with them.
As it turned out, Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Will it be the same with Iran?
