Sedona AZ (January 1, 2014) – The City of Sedona and VFW Post 7400 in Cottonwood have partnered to provide Service Officer support for all veterans living in the greater Sedona area. Eduard Uzumeckis, PhD, Post 7400 Service Officer, will begin seeing local veterans on Thursdays beginning January 9, 2014 from 9 AM to 1 PM in the Community Development/Public Works Building in the Sedona City Hall Complex on a first come first served basis. Veterans seeking assistance should bring a copy of their DD214/215 and any other pertinent documents associated with the issue for which they are seeking help with them. For more information, Eduard Uzumeckis can be reached at 928-202-2193.
Post Service Officers assist members of the Post, their widows, and orphans, as well as other veterans in obtaining rightful benefits from the federal and state governments. A Service Officer will keep members of the Post informed of veterans’ entitlements and benefits offered and administrated by federal, state, and local governments. They provide these services free of charge and will assist any veteran or survivor unless it is clear the claim is fraudulent.
