City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (November 14, 2011) – The City of Sedona Department of Parks and Recreation is working with Olsson Associates to develop a Master Plan. A survey being conducted to aide in the development of the Master plan can be obtained by visiting the Parks and Recreation website at www.SedonaAz.gov/Parks. At this site you will find a link to the survey, a timeline of events, and a FAQ sheet and various ways that you can participate in the studies that will create the Master Plan.  This statistically valid survey will be mailed to homes within the City limits beginning Monday, November 14.  Residents are encouraged to fill out the survey and have it mailed back by the beginning of December.

The City has hired a “consultant” to draft a new Master Plan for our Parks. The survey asks the survey taker for anything that any household members may deem desirable for that Department to include, or expand, AND how to finance that suggested thing. Some of its suggestions for financing include; initiating a property tax, raising sales tax, etc. I suggest all residents to respond to this, otherwise we will certainy be stuck with expenses we do not authorize the city to make.

BTW, any questions dealing with creek walk I believe should have been eliminated entirely since a previous council headed by “Pud” deemed it to be a risk due to flash flooding.

The Sedona City Council through a majority consensus voted 5–1 at its Wednesday, August 13, special meeting, to temporarily shelve a controversial auto license-reading surveillance program, with council members  Melissa Dunn, Kathy Kinsella  Brian Fultz,  Derek J. Pfaf and Pete Furman giving a thumbs down,  and Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow supporting the cameras.
