Williams AZ (November 20, 2013) – The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the schedule of events for Mountain Village Holiday 2013.
The Mountain Village Holiday 2013 theme is “All I want for Christmas…”. This year’s holiday season in Williams will provide fun and festivities for all. The town will be beautifully decorated, including a 40 foot Christmas tree in the center of 2nd Street, a light parade along Historic Route 66 and a Holiday Open House to entice shoppers with terrific gift ideas. And for the children, a seasonal favorite, The Polar Express heads to the North Pole from the Grand Canyon Railway Depot (www.thetrain.com).
Bearizona Drive-thru Wildlife Park will host an exclusive pass-holder event on November 30th from 4-6pm. For more information on this event, visit www.bearizona.com.
The annual Parade of Lights winds its way along Historic Route 66 at 6:30pm on Saturday November 30th, 2013 hosted by Flagstaff radio personality Jenny Woodcock. The Parade of Lights is always a delightful, enchanting event for all ages. The Parade culminates with Santa greeting all who ‘still believe’. He then presides over The Official Tree Lighting Ceremony taking place immediately after the parade. The 40 ft tree on 2nd Street is obtained through a partnership between the City of Williams, The Kaibab National Forest, the Grand Canyon Railway and APS. Delivered on a flatbed truck, the tree is ‘planted’ in the middle of the street and then decorated by the Grand Canyon Railway.
Our Holiday Open House on December 7th from noon to 9pm will delight those seeking the perfect holiday gift. Restaurants, gift shops, and galleries will be offering a variety of specials to help complete your gift list.
Jenny Woodcock ‘wakes up’ Northern Arizona every weekday morning on 92.9 KAFF Country as the host of “KAFF Mornings With Jenny.” She has been on the air in Arizona and Utah for 20 years and is currently the Assistant Program Director, Music Director and Morning Show Host for KAFF Country. She loves to use her morning show format to promote the people and organizations that positively impact our community and make Northern Arizona a great place to live, work and play! She shares a very active life with her husband, Scott, teenagers Caroline and Jack, and toddler Violet. She is also the very proud Mom of Evan, a Flagstaff High School graduate and jazz bassist at Montana State University.
Hot chocolate, cookies and seasonal joy await you! The best memories will be made this year in Williams, Arizona, an extraordinary way to enjoy your holidays.
