Camp Verde News – Artists from Camp Verde will showcase a variety of works in a debut exhibit opening April 15 at Camp Verde Community Library.

All are members of the new Camp Verde Artists Group, coordinated by founder Mary Rush.

“I am honored and happy to coordinate this exhibit at the library for the newly formed Camp Verde Artists Group. We were only one month old when I scheduled the exhibition with the library. Now, at almost four months, we have gone through various stages of growth. We are becoming a solidified advocate for our art and the extended arts scene in Camp Verde,” Rush said.

The exhibit will run through July 15, and can be seen during regular library hours. Works will include paintings, photography, metal sculpture and woodburning. Artists whose work will be included include Birdy Finch, Deborah Christy Love, Jill Irvin, Joshua O. Smith, Lenore Velky, Mary Rush, Sally Reeves, Sue Moning, Thomas D. Fleming and Zoe Reeves-Conway. The large-scale metal sculptures of Joshua O. Smith will be exhibited outdoors at the neighboring Rezzonico Family Park. Attendees can view his sculptures along a Story Walk. All other pieces will be inside the library on the yellow wall.

“We have gone from strangers to a cohesive group of artists who feel at home in their new group,” Rush said of the group, which she started in December.

“It was time for the artists to find each other. We hope the community will help us celebrate this artists’ group to share our art more visibly. Please stop by the exhibit during library hours and let the staff know how much you enjoyed seeing the artwork,” Rush said.

Camp Verde Community Library is located just off Montezuma Castle Highway at 130 Black Bridge Road, Camp Verde AZ. For more information about this or any other library program, visit the library’s website at www.cvlibrary.org or call 554-8380.

Belief vs. Suspicion: Will Iran go the Way of Iraq, Gaza and Palestine?

It was belief that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction that led us into war with Iraq. It’s suspicion that Iran seeks to build a nuclear warhead that has led us into war with them.
As it turned out, Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Will it be the same with Iran?
