Cottonwood AZ (January 10, 2019) – The deadly, illicit drug fentanyl is in our community. Illicit fentanyl is being distributed in Yavapai County through counterfeit pills, it is also being cut into other drugs such as cocaine and heroin. The public is invited to a Community Conversation on this drug and other substance abuse issues in our community. The “Town Hall” will be held on Monday, January 28 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Cottonwood Recreation Center, 150 S. 6th Street in Cottonwood. Cottonwood City Manager and Co-Chair of MATFORCE Doug Bartosh will facilitate the discussion.
The Town Hall will include a panel discussion with representatives from the Cottonwood Police Department, Partners Against Narcotic Trafficking, Yavapai County Community Health Services, Spectrum Health Care and the recovery community.
The Community Conversation is an opportunity to ask questions and to openly share your ideas to be a part of the solution. Topics covered will include: prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery. Anyone interested in learning more or who is interested in offering resources or solutions is invited to attend.
