What is unconditional love? There are so many definitions out there, none of which — including mine — that even come close to having a monopoly on truth. Isn’t that grand! I adore that the unconditioned cannot be conditioned by words. If it could, it wouldn’t be unconditional would it?
People attempt — and I am one of those through whom the trying tries 😉 — to put the ineffable into words, to point to the wide-open space where words cannot go, to at best, reveal the rudimentary understanding of ‘This That Is’ that is always present as the appearance, the expression, the playground, to pull the sheet off the ghost in the works.
It’s fun to play with words, kind of like it’s blood curdling scary, eye-popping fun, heart stopping exciting, on the edge of your seat death-defying … a wild and crazy ride … to play one’s role in duality.
It’s what we do here, that is if here isn’t taken more seriously than an appearance in awareness, a mythical place in time and space, the game show of game shows, one that has no winners or losers but puts on one hell of a Oscar worthy performance.
Unconditional love. It’s what every heart aches to receive … and give … and what we are literally scared to death of, running in the opposite direction from, hiding in the closet and closing our eyes and hearts to avoid. How strange!
What is unconditional, forget the love part … that word has a ton of baggage associated with it. Unconditional will suffice. Here goes: Unconditional means without conditions. It’s elementary but packs a big Ouch! None. Nada. Nichts. No escape clauses at all.
It’s not a complex deal. It’s simple. Truly.
None means none: all preferences, all opinions, all our should be’s and needs to be’s, all our visions of how we want the world to behave, replaced with simple unconditioned Being.
That’s why so few realize what this is, why most of us go to our graves still searching for answers, still looking for grace, not realizing it was always right here in the smile of the homeless woman with her hand out, the angry far-right patriot looking for a better world, the billionaire for whom enough will never be enough.
It is right here — life as it is — unconditionally, our frustration and doubt, our desires and wants, our preferences and hopes included.
Yeah … it makes no sense to the mind seeking answers. It never will.

Bios normally wax on about accomplishments and beliefs, happenings in time and space. She has never accomplished anything, has no beliefs and like you was never born and will never die.
