    Enteric Nervous System Effect on Mental Health

    logo_mentalhealthawarenessweekSedona AZ (September 18, 2018) – Deborah Pardee, PhD, will address the Enteric Nervous System’s effect on moods and behavior at Mental Health Monday on September 24, 10-11:30AM at Yavapai College, 4215 Arts Village Drive sponsored by the Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley in partnership with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Yavapai College.The forum is free and open to the public.

    According to Pardee, “The presentation will highlight specific disorders affected by dysfunction in the enteric nervous system, enabling the participant to identify and treat seemingly intractable mental health issues. This presentation will cover the effect of ENS disorders and their relationship to mental health disorders, including schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder and anxiety disorders. It will address the most recent, cutting edge research available.”

    photo_DeborahPardeeDeborah Pardee is a Licensed Psychologist who practices in Yavapai County. She has worked with the juvenile justice division since 1999, providing psychotherapy services to youths and their families. Additionally, she completes competency evaluations for both youth and adults through the court system. She is on the faculty of the Counseling Program at Prescott College. In the private practice setting, Dr. Pardee specializes in the assessment and treatment of multiple disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. She provides psychological testing, psychotherapy, and neurofeedback services to children, adolescents and adults. She has been a presenter at multiple workshops. She has resided in the Sedona area for over twenty years.

    The Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley is a 501C3 non-profit all volunteer organization dedicated to building support and eliminating the stigma for individuals and families challenged by mental health issues through education, outreach, advocacy, community conversations and support services.
