logo_sedonaartsweekSedona AZ (May 22, 2014) – The inaugural Sedona Arts Week, from May 28-June 8, includes a series of innovative and immersive learning experiences in arts and culture.

Sedona Arts Week, weaves events through three Festivals over 11 days: Illuminate Film Festival, Sedona PhotoFest, and the Sedona Bluegrass Festival.

One event brings together Sedona PhotoFest and the Sedona Chamber Ballet at 1 p.m. on June 6 for Arts of New Dimension Day at Sedona Performing Arts Center.  Restless Elements is a simultaneous art-fusion blend of dance, time-lapse photography and music that creates a textured harmonious event.

Photographer Mike Olbinski’s awe-inspiring time-lapse photography of the 2012 Arizona Monsoon is set to the music of Luke Neumann and Kevin Macleod while professional and local ballet dancers dance live within the photography.

“This is the second series of events in which we have partnered with the Sedona Culture Collaborative.  It is exciting to bring the unlikely and unusual together into a scenario that seems like it is meant to be,” said Vince Fazio, Director of the School of Arts at the Sedona Arts Center.

The ballet, choreographed by Brandon Ragland, Louisville Ballet and directed by retired Joffrey Ballet principal Tracy Julias, will be performed by Louisville Ballet dancers Rachel Cahayla Wynne, Ryan Stokes and  Leigh Anne Albrechta; Sedona Chamber Ballet dancers Maya Lowney, Thekla Hutyrova and Isabella Pepino; and Northern Arizona Youth Ballet school students Jaxon and Charleston Oles.

“Restless Elements celebrates stretching the boundaries of creative capacity and shifting your relationship to the earth, arts and creative spirit,” said Winnie Muench, Director, Sedona Chamber Ballet.

Half-day and full-day tickets are $25 and $50, respectively. Tickets are available online at www.sedonacollaborative.org or at the Sedona Performing Arts Center the day of the event.
