Festival and fundraiser features bands, food and fun
for golf course restoration and historic preservation causes.
Rimrock AZ (September 15, 2012) – Beaver Creek’s 2nd Annual Ranch House Round Up is gearing up for a day of family fun , food and all day music at the Beaver Creek Golf course of Lake Montezuma on Saturday October 6th. Starting at high noon, the event will feature its famous Ranch BBQ, an extensive silent auction of artwork, crafts and collectables, games for the whole family and bands from around the Verde Valley and Phoenix area. Musical entertainment will be provided by the renowned Dina Preston Band and Verde Valley’s own Double D, the Dave Rice Heart Prairie and other local bands.
Event proceeds targets the restoration of the famed 120 acre Beaver Creek Golf Course, closed since 2009, and the establishment of an area historical society. The golf course, built in 1958 by world famous golf course architect Jack Snyder, was purchased along with the historic Ranch House Restaurant in 2011 by local residents of the Beaver Creek community. Forming a non-profit corporation, the group, known as the Ranch House Coalition, spent the better part of a year renovating and restoring the restaurant building with an all-volunteer crew and is now moving onto the golf course renovation phase of this ambitious undertaking. The course is scheduled to open in late spring 2013 as a semi-public 18-hole course.
