SEDONA, AZ - (February 7, 2010) - At a recent fundraiser, Sedona resident and former AZ State Senator Tom O'Halleran spoke to a group of Rob Adams supporters about why he is backing the re-election of Rob Adams for Sedona Mayor.

Said O'Halleran, "It's always been a pleasure of mine to introduce a person I believe strongly in that he's good for people and good for government."

O'Halleran said he supports Adams largely because he is willing to listen to the people.

Said O'Halleran, "One of things that impressed me about Rob in his first term is that he reached out to the community and brought together citizens to form some committees, and I can't for the life of me understand why someone would object to citizens sitting down, meeting together, and sending some advice to those people that represent them...That is one of the strong parts of what Rob stands for."

He said Adams has an inclusive style of leadership.

O'Halleran had some stinging words for Adams' opponent, Jerry Frey.  Said O'Halleran, "Rob's opponent one time called me up and threatened me on the telephone because I had voted a different way at the legislature than he wanted to. I had voted in what he thought was an un-Republican way...He didn't really understand what the issue was at all."

At that same fundraiser, Adams outlined his positions on issues which include voting "no" on Proposition 400 in support of a direct election of the mayor, a reconstitution of his Mayor's Committees, the creation of a National Scenic Area for Sedona, and improving safety on Hwy 89A by making it look more like SR179, rather than continuous roadway lighting, including the installation of on-demand lighting.
