The idea for a song circle was inspired by Payne's first visit to
Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas last spring. “Going to Kerrville was
one of the best musical experiences of my life. Late at night crowds of
musicians gather around campfires to share songs and stories. You can
spend all night wandering around the campground, soaking up some of the
best music going on right now.” Payne stated, “I am so happy to have
Johann and Trevor here in Sedona. They are a great representation of the
richness of music that is going on at festivals like Kerrville.

Reichman has attended Kerrville Folk
Festival for the last five years and stated, “I find that I often nap
through the mainstage performances so that I can stay awake for the
after hours campfire circles and street performances, which all
Kerrville veterans know is where the heart and soul of the festival
lies.” Payne, Wagner and Reichman hope to bring a little taste of this
wonderful Texan experience to Sedona.
Wagner knows how to tell a story, both in
his music and in the tales that interlace each one of his songs
together.”
After a four month tour to support his new
record "Songs from the Kitchen Sink" J Wagner has made Austin, Texas,
his home. He has performed at six universities, two television shows,
countless radio shows, the Kerrville Folk Festival, and was a featured
artist at the Texas Story Telling Festival, The Deep Ellum arts and
Music Festival, and The Fort Worth Arts Festival. He has been featured
on NPR's Texas Eclectic radio show along with a spot on Texas Radio One.
He was labeled as Number 1 best bet by both the Austin American
Statesman and The Dallas Morning news. Wagner's Music has been covered
by over eighteen different artists and two of his songs were featured in
the film "The Porch." The Dallas Morning News referred to Wagner as "A
North Texas Songwriting Staple."
J Wagner's songs consist of his
highway travels, broken hearts, and the strangers he has met along his
journeys. He mainly performs as a solo artist but is often backed up
with his band, the Kitchen Sink Poets. Wagner has recorded two Albums on
Insect Records with Polyphonic Spree member and string arranger, Rick G.
Nelson. He is currently working on a third which will feature a couple
of songs from other Insect Recording artists. Wagner has been compared
to Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Ryan Adams and Townes Van Zandt. He was a
regional finalist in the New Folk Songwriting Competition, and, while
still in College, won the Texas Colligate Songwriter Award. Please

Trevor Reichman, after more than a dozen years of writing songs
just for the love of it, finally quit this day job a couple of years ago
to embark on a musical path, a good one so far. Trevor's music has been
influenced by the communities where he has lived, such as Oregon, Texas,
and South Africa (where he was born). He is now building an off grid
music studio in the desert of Far West Texas, close to Big Bend National
Park, where he will begin to record a large catalog of original songs.
Trevor likes to focus on the subtleties and nuances within sounds,
inviting audiences along for a lyrical and melodic journey. Please

Jake Payne is one of Sedona's indie rock singer songwriters. He
moved to Sedona in 2004 and has been an integral part of Sedona's
emerging music scene. Payne hopes that events like this one become more
and more frequent, so that Sedona becomes a favorite stop for great
independent musicians making their way around the country. Payne
stated, "Sedona has a strong reputation for visual art and can also be
known for having great music scene as well. Right now local musicians
are creating unique and distinctive events so that there are locals and
touring acts performing all over town, all the time." For more
