Sedona, AZ - Sept 13, 2008 - Mark your calendar for Saturday evening, October 18th at 7:00 pm. and come to the Jewish Community Center to savor the enduring music of Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66.

“Artists In Rhythm” in collaboration with the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley, will be presenting the last of four benefit concerts of the year, featuring Susannah Martin and her delicious Portuguese singing, along with guest trumpeter/percussionist Steve Annibale.

Sergio Mendes is the undisputed master of pop infected Brazilian jazz, and from 1968 on was arguably the biggest Brazilian star in the world.

MUSIC -Guest trumpeter/ percussionist Steve Annibale will perform on October 18th at 7pm at the Jewish Community Center in Sedona.  Tickets: $15.

Known for his arrangements of tunes by Jobim, Burt Bacharach, the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Jorge Ben and others, his music is a hybrid of jazz, bossa nova and American pop.

Backing up Martin and Annibale is the rhythm section of Steve Sandner on piano, Kevin McQuaid on drums and Artists in Rhythm owner Steve Douglas on bass.

Some featured songs include “The Look of Love,” “Mais Que Nada,” “Agua de Beber,” “One Note Samba,” “So Many Stars,” “Fool On The Hill,” “Wave,” and “Day Tripper.”

Proceeds from this concert series go to the JCSVV’s endowment fund, with a percentage earmarked specifically for music scholarships.

The JCC is located at 100 Meadowlark Dr. just off Hwy 179 in the chapel area of Sedona. Tickets are $15 and kids 18 under are encouraged to attend for free.
