Sedona, AZ -- The City of Sedona celebrated its fourth annual “Sedona Public Works Week Fair” Tuesday, May 22, at Sedona City Hall courtyard, 102 Roadrunner Drive.

Residents, children and city staff enjoyed the free event designed to educate the public on the various activities and responsibilities of the city’s Public Works Department.

The fair featured displays, demonstrations, informational handouts, and activities by the city and community organizations.

The celebration was part of a nationwide observance of National Public Works Week.

Each year, the American Public Works Association proclaims a week in May as National Public Works Week to recognize the people who devote their professional time and energy to public works, making communities better and safer places to live.

The event celebrated the often unsung heroes of our society: the professionals who serve the public good every day with quiet dedication.

This year’s theme was “Public Works: Moving Life Forward” and there was a display at the Sedona Public Library commemorating it.
