Flamenco guitarist, Drew Bennett

Flamenco artist comes to Sedona

Sedona, AZ -- Get ready Sedona-classical guitar lovers because internationally acclaimed guitarist Drew Bennett is coming to town.

Nominated for six Grammy’s and four Latin categories, the talented musician will be featured 3-6 p.m. at the Annual Fiesta del Tlaquepaque Event at Tlaquepaque, 336 Hwy 179, in the Patio Del Norte, on September 8th.

On Oct. 4 at the Bistro Bella Terra at the Hilton Plaza 6-8 p.m., Drew will be performing songs from his acclaimed album “Flamenco Salsa” featuring his virtuoso masterpiece “Flamenco Salsa.”

Also, Oct. 12, Drew will be performing, starting 8 p.m., with Anthoiny Mazzella and Del Sol at Relics on 89A.

Drew is presently searching for a home in Sedona to live here full time.

Watching Drew play is a real treat for aficionados who enjoy lightning-fast guitar riffing cradled in melodic content, differentiating him from other guitar virtuosos who blind with speed but leave nothing behind for the listener to pleasantly recall.

Drew's greatest passion is bringing the music he loves to the world.

Drew Bennett is a National performing artist, (Grammy Nominated International Flamenco Guitarist, renowned Native American Flautist, recording artist, composer, and Multi Instrumentalist.) He practices and promotes The Tao, Tai Chi, Yoga and a healthy life style.

Drew was born in March, 1972 in the Midwest United States. Drew began Classical/Flamenco guitar lessons at age seven and studied from a graduate of Richard Pick Classical Guitar instruction from Chicago University. Drew also took private guitar lessons in Jazz guitar, blues, rock & roll & theory under guitar instructor T.J. Helmerich (Innovator of eight finger guitar technique) who is now on the Engineering Staff at The Guitar Institute of Technology at The Music Institute in Los Angeles California.

Drew became skilled on the guitar and studied rigorously for 10 hours a day from 1980 - 1987. He then toured professionally in several music groups throughout the United States. In 1987 Drew began his modeling career as well and worked in various advertisement publications.

Drew released two pop records in early 1990 entitled, 'Crazy Boyz' and 'Bennett & Eastwood'. In 2005 Drew released a promotional three-song Rock/Blues guitar CD entitled, 'Drew Bennett – Johnny Depp Who'?

Drew Bennett's first International CD release entitled, 'Tribal Awakening' is a meditation/Native American Flute arrangement with Asian influence, acoustic guitar and Latin Percussion. (Published by Kokopelli Records LLC & Drew Bennett Publishing, in 2005).
Drew Bennett's latest Grammy Nominated release is, 'Flamenco Salsa'. This CD is an evocative Spanish-Nuevo Flamenco Guitar compilation with pieces consisting of Spanish, Brazilian, (Salsa), Cuban, Mediterranean, and Rumba influences as well as Romantic Flamenco ballads. Drew Bennett's CD, 'Flamenco Salsa' is also reminiscent of Esteban, Jesse Cook and Ottmar Liebert.

Drew studied recording engineering at Glendale College in Glendale, Arizona in the 90's. He has also worked with other producers and engineers such as John Herrera, Anna Bennett, Edward Edelbrock, and Daniel Eastwood. Drew has also been commissioned for hire as a songwriter, composer, commercial audio composer and film score soundtrack artist.
Drew Bennett is currently touring his Grammy Nominated release 'Flamenco Salsa' thoughout Arizona, California, and the western United States.

Drew performs and records with some of the finest musicians from around the world, such as John Herrera, (Drummer of National Jazz band-Turning Point) Emilio Santiago (Latin Percussionist of World famous 'Esteban's band) Jonathan Miller, (International touring violinist) Ray Nelson (Trumpet player of World famous 'Esteban's' band) Thano Sahnas (Bouzouki & Guitar player of National Jazz band-Turning Point) and others.

Drew is a board member of his label, Kokopelli Records LLC and is also a member of the Recording Academy and BMI. He also holds a business degree in Marketing.
