Actress and artist Jane Seymour named official spokesperson for Camp Soaring Eagle

Sedona, AZ - September 19, 2008 – With the support of actress, artist, and child advocate Jane Seymour, over 350,000 children currently suffering from critical illnesses in the southwest are now one step closer to discovering the healing power of laughter. Camp Soaring Eagle is proud to announce that Jane Seymour has agreed to be the Camp’s official spokesperson.

Camp Soaring Eagle located in Sedona, Arizona will provide life-changing experiences to children whose daily struggles due to serious illness often diminish both their desire to be well and their ability to lead rich, productive lives.

Many of these children suffering from chronic life–threatening conditions have never had the opportunity to attend camp until now. Camp Soaring Eagle is dedicated to helping them discover a new world of experiences in a safe and supportive environment and at absolutely no charge to campers and their families.

“When I first met Max James, Founder of Camp Soaring Eagle,” states Seymour, “I was inspired by the level of passion and commitment he is bringing to this special project. Sharing this same love for children, I am honored to be the official spokesperson of Camp Soaring Eagle. In the coming months I will be working very closely with Max and the Camp Soaring Eagle Team in raising awareness and support to insure that thousands of children can discover the healing power of laughter in spectacular Sedona, Arizona.”

Seymour, a multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner, recipient of the Officer of the British Empire (OBE), which was bestowed on her by Queen Elizabeth II, has proven her talents in virtually all media, the Broadway stage, motion pictures and television. Her love of art and color has led to her great success as a painter in watercolors and oils and as a fashion designer. But most importantly Jane Seymour is deeply dedicated to the welfare of children. As a hands-on mother of six, Jane Seymour, takes every opportunity to make a difference for children who are in need.

Actively involved in numerous charitable causes, Jane is a member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet and works for Childhelp, a national organization dedicated to the research, treatment and prevention of child abuse, as International Ambassador. The organization’s "Woman of the World" award is one of many honors she has won for her social and charitable achievements. Seymour is also the Honorary Chairperson for City Hearts, an organization that enriches the lives of inner-city children and disadvantaged youths, by teaching the performing arts, including painting, dancing and acting.
